Don, If your tank is solid, but has rust inside,wash out tank and use a ratchet strap to secure it to a jacked up lawn mower rear wheel, add some light wt. chain inside tank ( or small metal parts) and let lawn mower tumble the tank for 30 to 45 minutes and should remove all rust problems.Metal abrasives are easier to remove than nonmetallic abrasives (use a magnet to get abrasives over tank lip. Then you have option of creme coating sealant inside the tank. Eastwood automotive has the sealer and or kit, to etch & coat tank. Good Luck Dave Zook
