1988 camaro-major bucking

I know this is not a tractor problem--but my good buddy that I work with suggested i try telling you about my problem. I have a 1988 camaro that i bought for my son. Long story short he has moved on to a newer car and i now want to get this running for resale. The problem is that when you drive it-- it starts bucking bad --then it will smooth out and then do it again. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
