Propane since 1971, and at that time the company added a extra $1.15 cartiage fee for acetelene. Ain't no way I would spend all that extra money at the time.
At that time my first oxygen tank was the very large $89.00 including the oxygen, within six months a small tank was $98.00 w/ out any oxygen. I can't remember the tank letters, but this was the basic three tank options at the time.
