I think it was through a FarmShow article that I located a similar job done in Sheyboygan Falls, WI. Had noticed that many good repowers were done with 855s. Went to see the tractor, found his machinist who made the adapter plate, and he made one for me. That was something over $700 with heat treating- which is needed to relieve stress of drilling all the holes in the steel. Found a couple 855s on a neighbor's auction, had the best one rebuilt. Everything was rebuilt except the air compressor- mistake. Those bearings went bad after 4 days, took out the engine mains (common oil supply). Left the pump in because neighbor said he had an air-ride seat for me. Removed the pump, put in different accessory drive and remounted injector pump. Had to add a governor, front sump oil pan, extended the side frames with half-inch plate, heavy- half or 3/4 angle for the front mount. Put in a bigger radiator, although it now has the original back in. Custom made hood to cover the extended length. This was done in the mid- 90s, spent a few thousand on it. I still have oodles of notes, addresses, pix, etc. Machinist was Lee Sixel, in the Sheyboygan area. Actually never met him- did it all over the phone. email is open.
