As recently as 20 years ago you needed a fox hole to be safe during buck season here in northern central Pa. (Bradford county). I've lived within a mile of a large tract of state game lands most of my life and so far this hunting season I've heard 2 shots since Monday morning, from the sound of those they didn't connect with anything. Saw 2 "hunters" cruisin' up the road in a spit polished black extended cab dually with Joisey plates yesterday. See more game wardens these days than "the bad guys" they are hunting. We've had only 2 doe around here all summer and that's all I've seen. Used to have 3 until favorite daughter clobbered 1 with my Eldorado in April. Of course with all the safety gear required to hunt in Pa these days, it becomes the proverbial case of "hunting deer with a brass band". With the game commission so red hot to pinch the bad guys and fine them thousands of dollars, nobody is foolish enough to take the chance much less take their kid out and risk a mistake that will cost thousands. The Pa. Game commission has effectively killed hunting in Pa.
