Everything you said is well known, but somehow the small in numbers eco-terrorist lobby (Sierra club, etc) has the ear of Congress and the EPA. I can uderstand the EPA buying into it, because this helps build/maintain their empire.
As you say, the earth will recover from just about anything man could do to it. We have about the cleanest environment in the world, yet we can't touch a wetland, can't pour a quart of oil on the ground, can't burn leaves. It's gotten way out of hand. Just yesterday, I bought a small padlock at Home Depot and was stunned to see a warning required by Calif. law that says the lock contains toxic, carcinogenic chemicals. It's fricking made of steel!!! Probably a coating of some kind that caused the warning, but it's still stupid!!
When those eco-terrorists were living in those trees in SF FOR OVER A YEAR to prevent them from being cut down, I would have gotten on a bullhor, told them they had 10 minutes to get down and fired up the chainsaws.
It's about time we took back this country from the Al Gore loving, tree hugging, environmentalists and restore a common sense approach to our lives.
