I mow about 6 acres and I have tried about everything from garden tractors to home-made contraptions. Last year I purchased a Swisher and pulled it behind a 50 inch cut mower. It worked very well but still took too much time. I now have purchased a Jacobsen self propelled mower that cuts a swath of 11 feet. This is an old machine like they would use on golf courses. I have less money tied up in this unit than you can buy a cheaper garden tractor for. Look around these are available. Maybe a little mechanical work needed.I had to do very little and it runs well. It has a Ford Industrial Engine it it. It lifts all 5 mowers hydraulically. good Luck
