This may not be the answer you are looking for, but I got fed up with ink printers a few years ago, and switched to laser. Bullet proof office laser printers are available very cheap used, and many haven't even printed one month's worth of their duty cycle. For example, I just bought a current model Lexmark $450 printer (1 1/2 years old) for $68 shipped to my door off Ebay. It has a 80,000 page per month duty cycle, and had a total print count when I got it of 5003 pages. Toner is over 1/2 full, and will print over 5000 more pages till it has to be replaced. Toner is cheap (again off Ebay) when the time comes. The only reason I replaced my old one is my new laptop didn't have a parallel port, and an adapter won't work. Color lasers are also available cheap, but I don't have a need for them, and toner costs more. I will never go back to ink.
