My brother lives in town and remodeled his kitchen and bathroom. He put all the old cabinets and stuff out in the trash. Sure enough, a building inspector came buy. My brother told the inspector that those cabinets were old ones from his basement. The inspector demanded to inspect the place. My brother told him he could inspect his house when he got a warrant! Slammed the door in the mans face! Little known by most people, an inspector can't just come inside your house; illegal searches are forbidden. If the inspector thinks he has probable cause, he needs to get a judge to sign a warrant to inspect the place. Inspector never did get the warrant and my brother never heard from him again!
Another little known fact: a lot of these towns demand to inspect your house before you sell to make sure everything is up to snuff- again, can't do it without either your permission or a warrant! BTDT!
