Tool type batteries or gel cell do not do well for cranking loads, but sealed AGM batteries do well. I have found sealed AGM batteries in lawn/garden and motorcycle types, but they are the conventional flat plate design. I wish they made the spiral cell AGM batteries like an Optima red top for small applications. The Optima red tops and Exide orbital are both spiral cell AGM cranking batteries and have given me very long service. The first Optima I bought finally failed last summer at 16 years old.
You may find what you want by doing a Google search for "Motorcycle AGM battery".
This site I link to list their having sealed AGM motorcycle batteries as a gel type. That is a little confusing, as an AGM battery is leak proof dry type, but difinatly NOT a gel type battery. A gel cell battery has jellied electrolyte that can be ruined by rapid charging or discharging(causes bubbles in the Jelly electrolyte). An AGM battery (Absorbant glass mat) Has thick absorbant plate seperators that keep the LIQUID electrolyte on the plates and prevent any leakage from the battery case.
