A friend of mine and I used to do this years ago. We built a machine and did several from combine tires clear down to small spares for compact cars. Yes, you cut one bead out and then pull the bottom up through the center. Then you have to push the tire out to make it round. Some tires are very easy to flip and others will test you. Some radials will not stay "flipped" but most will. We used to like to see Goodyear tires because they were thinner and were easier to turn. Firestones were much harder as they are thicker for the same size and ply tire. Rice tires can be turned but are difficult. The taller the sidewall on the tire the easier it will turn.
