We have beat that to death on here and everywhere else what caused the high gas/food prices.Speculators and market manipulation. This was caused by crooked congressmen sneaking a loophole into the law to where speculators could call a future stock real. They Proceeded to buy up a years worth of oil stocks in advance of them being pumped out of the ground. Then since they couldnt get these fictional stocks, claimed there was a shortage.Which caused the price of a barrel of oil to go up to 140 dollars dragging 10 or 12 other commodities with it.
Al Gore is minor compared to whats going on now.Reagan might have said he was going to lower a tax,or maybe if you had a business you didnt pay as much some way,but Reagans economy was downhill.Doubled our debt. Its on the graph.Reagan talked about doing lots of stuff, didnt do very much of it.He did lower interest rates finally so the country could survive.Reagan was not nearly as bad a President as we have now.Reagan is lied about to such an extent its like a myth.Reagan, and I lived through it,spent more on the military.Reagan cut every government program, then spent that, and borrowed a bunch more, and spent it on the military.Like having a war,but we didnt really have a war.So I guess if you worked for a contractor, and he hired you because of government spending on the military,it was good for you.If you were a farmer,it wasnt so good.CBOT broke lots of them,Reagan didnt even care.
