Oh! That was Israel (aka the 51st state) and Egypt:).
The Iranians are nothing more than a festering pimple on, and in, the world's a$$. From time to time it gets enflamed, causes a little irritation and then goes away. However, if the time comes that it requires squeezing, that is exactly what it will receive. Once the core is removed and a balm is applied, it will heal. That is exactly what is being applied to Iraq at this very moment. The Iranians fear they are next....and they should!
One of these days there will be a leader installed in this country who will exterminate that nest of ingrates over there and put things in order.
That order is:
You have oil, We want it. We will buy it, even pump it ourselves. You will behave while we do it. You will take the millions and be happy. If that arrangement is not suitable, then We will take it. Payment will be withheld until You accept the conditions.
End of discussion.
That, is how it was throughout the reign of the Shah. He was installed to make sure those conditions were met. Religious extremists deposed him and they have been the source of that festering pimple ever since. Jimmy Carter munched his goobers and failed to correct the situation in 1979. Thirty years later...well thirty years, you know what has ensued.

I never realized there were so many 'stans until the Soviet Union dissolved and the Azerbaijani's, Kajiki's, and so forth came crawling out of the woodwork again. This has exacerbated the situation in the other Muslim countries and...the entire region.
Lo, I digress! Those proud, but mostly ignorant peoples in that region, are led by an educated, but misguided few. They shall not be allowed to hold the world hostage.
