If the general public knew how to do any of that stuff,i'd be outta business.
Seriously,it would be a waste of time and taxpayer dollars to have it made mandatory in testing as most wouldn't make it a habit.
Now on the other hand,a short-course in automotive repair and maintenance should be added to the classroom for new recruits.Just basics and terminology.
Sometimes when explaining a repair to a customer,I get the feeling they're looking at me like a have two heads!No clue what i'm talkin' 'bout!
