I see it's been a while since the original message was posted but Re: soaking metal parts in an acid solution, you need to be aware of a consideration known as hydrogen embrittlement that occurs to metal parts. The metal can be weakened by a chemical change that occurs when soaked in acid, and this can pose a very real hazard in the case of certain load bearing parts - suspension, brakes etc. I don't know if the 4:1 dilution you mentioned would prevent this or not. I'm not sure who you would contact regarding this, but I would ask someone who REALLY knows their stuff in relation to metallurgy, chemistry etc. before dunking any parts like that to find out about this potential hazard.
