I almost lost my left ring finger on 2004 luckily a hand specialist in St. Louis was able to reattach it. It was still mostly intact but not by much.
I was taking the rear hub off of a Farmall H tractor when it slid off the axle sooner than I expected. It fell to the ground and leaned into the axle with my finger between the hub and axle. I heard it snap, sounded like a twig breaking. I spent 3 1/2 days in the hospital and suprisingly it never hurt once or throbbed. I was off work for 9 weeks. I thought I would never clap my hands again but it takes time. Had no feeling in it for 6 weeks then for the 7th & 8th week feeling started coming back. That was irritating felt like a thousand needles sticking it. I kept up the exercise I was told to do and it all helped. After two weeks of wearing a splint on it they told me to take if off and keep it off. That was scary going with out the splint especially after only two weeks. My finger isn't exactly like it use to be but I'm still proud to have it. I hope your recovery is a fast one!

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
