I know this is off topic and off season. The previous owner of our house built it with the intention that the upper story be heated and cooled by a system separate from the rest of the house. The upper story is one big room 39' x 15' with 9' ceiling that we use as a tv / game room. It is well insulated and 2 1500 watt 220 volt baseboard heaters take care of it with ease. I am thinking about a cooling only air handler unit and ducting. How many ton air conditioner do I need? I live just south of Omaha Nebraska. We sometimes get over 100 in the summer. Just last week we got to -15 and the heaters kept up easy and ran very little to give you some idea of the insulation. I was told it would take 2 ductless mini's but I think an air handler would be cheaper. Appreciate your advice guys.
