MUST BE FUN said: (quoted from post at 15:33:12 01/23/09) I have an older friend who has High (blood test) Creatinine -- what can be taken or used to lower High Creatinine, if anything ?
How elevated is it, any creatinine over 2.5 is serious. This could be caused by decreased pressure from the heart (pump) or from an obstruction down stream like the prostate. As we age we all tend to reach the outer edges of the bell shaped curve that tells us our test results are normal or abnormal and that is a fact of life but being way outside the normal range should wave red flags. To find a good doctor, ask a nurse that works in your community or some other health care worker. They will be able give you direction. Help your friend, you might have fun doing that.
