Don't know about the baby chicks ...BUT ..if you want free range birds get some Black Java eggs!! The breed almost went extinct ,,,got some for my father in law from a farm in St Charles Ill,,,took him a dozen ,,his neighbor hatched them...the settlere used to let them out in the morning,,,VERY territorial...the roosters would ATTACK coyotes ect...I have a picture somewhere ..these roosters get 3 feet tall or more!! they have spurs bigger than any I've seen...He took thm to the county fair in Girrard Kansas and the judges had to go to the library to look up the breed ad they had NEVER seen it!! Best of show and Blue Ribbon Champion to boot!! Sure made a 90 year old farmer happy!! Charles

Today's Featured Article - Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out.
