assuming you have the bolt back & want to remove it from the rifle? Is the safety off? Make sure it is. The model of the Savage & the age of the rifle will also make a difference. On some models hold the trigger back with one hand & pull the bolt out with the other. Sometimes press down on the movable parts at the bottom of the chamber in front of the pulled-back bolt to release the bolt.
