John, From what you posted,it"s possible the Ignition module is going bad on the distributor? My 1990 F150 V8 did the samething for a while then one night going to work on third shift it decided to quite all together. Never forget that night it was cold and not a soul on the main road to hitch a ride to work. Walked three mile to get to work. Mike
