Increasing the pressure on most liquids raises the freezing point. However, for liquids that expand, like water, when they freeze, increasing the pressues lowers the freezing point.
This is why sleds work so well. The increased pressure under the runners melts the ice or snow into water and the sled easily slides on this liquid surface. When the pressure is off then it re-freezes.
As an interesting point this reaction is one reason Scott's quest for the south pole was doomed. The weather was so cold that the weight of their sledges did not melt the ice. It was like draging 1000 lb sledges across sand. It took all their energy to drag the sledges.
The bulk of the freezing protection comes from the mixture not pressure. Though I was unable to find the freezing point curve I wanted.
