It's been a long time but when I was a kid, I had an old two wheeled tractor given to me. The motor was locked up and had no identification on it. Dad went to a place in Marietta, OH called Marietta ignition (go figure) with the diameter of the piston, width of the grooves, and diameter of the cylinder and they matched what he needed. The place is still there (googled it last year) but don't know if they still offer that good of service. Our local Napa was pretty god also back then.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
