Thanks for the compliment; I appreciate your thoughts.
This photo of "Easy" our 46A was also taken on Memorial Day 2008.
One July 4th, 2007, I came in from mowing about 6pm and turned on the evening news.
The news was featuring several 4th of July parades in surrounding cities.
Not to be outdone, I got the flag and fastened it to the umbrella holder on "Old John", Nancy's 48A, and had a one-tractor parade down the country roads.
At that time, "Old John" had a glass-pack muffler that I installed to annoy Nancy's sorry, old, worthless, etc. city neighbor.
It was very loud and backfired extremely loud when going downhill.
Lots of hills in NE Texas so the parade sounded like opening day of squirrel season.
Dogs and kids were running through the yard and out near the road to bark and yell as I drove by.
Cats ran for cover and cattle either starred in shock or stampeded in fear.
Horses were "buckin and fartin" higher and louder that at the Huntsville Prison rodeo.
Older neighbors just waived and smiled.
Will never forget how much fun that was and hope it created some fond memories for all who watched the one-tractor parade.

This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
