Buzzman 72, With all respect to your mother, my comment was not directed at citizens such as her. Yes, $40 is a life saver for many people, my folks used the one they got, but only one. I should have stated myself better, the word" welfare" in how I was meaning it to say was that we as a nation should not DEPEND that the gov't sends out coupons to get things, such as the converter box, when we are fully able to get afford it, some how. You know darn well many well off people are getting both coupons. If the coupons were only given out to those already in hardship's, and only given one, I really don't get the needing 2 thing. 1 TV is maybe a need these days, but two? Not a need. I'm not sure what the total cost will be for the coupon assistance, but if only those that were financially strapped, such as your mother, and they only received the one. A Lot of money could have been saved. My Opinion, I also posted that statement due to the fact, from what I understand, the money allocated is used up already. It should have been plenty for those in need. I mean no disrespect to ANY ONE that has fallen on hard times and needs assistance and there will be a lot more people in that situation. I'm just saying if it wasn't so easy, more people would have, and should have, bought there own. " TV welfare" was not meant to describe a group. Money's tight for me as well.

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
