Painting a Ford 601

I am a complete rookie regards to painting, but I am gonna try. I bought my paint from Ford New Holland thinking I would just buy the hardener locally. Everyone says that is not a good idea. I called FNH dealer and inquired about hardner for the paint I purchased. Said I am the first one that ever asked, but no they dont offer it for the FNH paint. My question is, have any of you guys used hardner with the FNH enamel, if so what was the experience, and brand.
