That is great news, and I won't advise on the fact it is unpredictable. That is what the government officials are for regardless if all five year olds have noticed the wind does not blow every day, and the sun doesn't shine everyday either.
The government will alot money for a study to support this effort in the near future---they are still studying before they release the information to the press. They also will probably need more tax money for research. At this point they have found the sun ...MAY NOT SHINE, AND THE WIND MAY NOT BLOW EVERY DAY.
I guess I look at it as a big overcost, but stepping in the right direction, till something better is designed. We are all learning how to shut lights off a little better, and using more insulation when building etc. I certianly hope we can give our grandchildren something better that burning oil for power.
As a child we used to take a magnifing glass, burn paper, ants, and you buddies arm with the sun. Seems that a big magnifing glass of some sort could be a wave of the future. Like blassing all the sun from your roof into one room inside the house that you use alot. Often the answer is right in front of us, we just haven't figured it out yet.
