We had one installed about 5 years ago after our second break in.A local electric contractor installed it.I don't care for wireless,to many potential problems with signal,false alarms,etc. Ours was wired directly to the sheriffs office.It doesn't cost anything for monitoring.I don't know if would stop anyone from breaking in,but i figured it would give us a heads up if someone broke in in the middle of the night.Home invasions are getting pretty popular around here.They don't care if your home or not.
