I had some vandalism at my farm shop which is down the road about 1/2 mile. I bought a camera system. I got the hard drive (brains) and two cameras for around $600. The hard drive is about $300 and the cameras a little over $100 each. What I like is that the cameras are color, weatherproof, and have infrared so will film in total darkness. I have all kinds of settings that I am still figuring out. I have mine set on motion detection mode. Still trying to figure out how to adjust some of the settings, but think I am gonna like it. I am hoping that just the fact it's there will scare off most. If it is kids doing it, I should be able to recognize them or read a license plate hopefully. It also has a beeper that is ear splitting that you can turn on or off if desired.
