Grew up on and own 200 acres my great-grandfather put together before 1900. Part of it a Nebraska homestead claimed in 1867, one of the oldest continuous farm family ownerships in the state. 75 acres in CRP tall-grass prairie, 75 acres never tilled, original prairie and the remainder returned to native and rented for C.C. pairs. Retired in Minneapolis from checkered employment past in spectrum of; R.R. Maintenance of way, military-space electronics, industrial sales engineering, commodity futures, production maintenance, skipped the political. Spent half of calendar 2006 at the farm but only a week in 2008. Will need to be there more this year than I want to be, am getting a little tired of it.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
