As usual, you'll hear good and bad about most any tractor. I must say the balance is pretty heavily on the 'bad' side for Belarus. Problems reported include build quality, reliability (lots of wiring problems, if I recall correctly) parts availability (long waits for ordinary parts are common) and dealer support. You make a good point on the 50 year old vs. 6 year old question however. Bottom line: I wouldn't necessarily rule it out, but I'd look some more before I plunked down my money for one. Someone noted that the pricing 'sweet spot' for used tractors seems to be in the 75-100 HP range. The smaller ones are snapped up by the wannabe farmers (like me) and the bigger ones are grabbed by the real farmers. Might be more tractor than you really NEED, but if it'll do the job, it's worth checking into.
