We celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary on Feb. 12 by having a nice dinner out, as is our custom. We long ago decided to combine Valentines with anniversary and celebrate on the 12th, so we're not competing for restaurant reservations with everybody else. Valentines evening we babysat the grandkids so their parents could go out to dinner. Good time had by all.
Learned that inablility to communicate by a one year old is purely physical inability to talk- she is being taught sign language by her mother, and believe me, she can "talk" very well if she doesn't have to use her voice.
BTW, an enterprising guy in Seattle made reservations at nice restaurants all over town well in advance, then sold the reservations to guys who waited until the last minute and couldn't get any. His goal was to get enough money to take his girl out- he said it worked even better than expected.
