I had that problem too. I also think that when I heated them to loosen the adjuster pinion this weakened the castings.
When tightening them go evenly and only snug at first then drive around a little retighten,keep driving and retightening and soon they will be seated and you won't get anymore on the wrench. Try not to go real tight with the bolts. IE don't use a cheater bar !
