There's a distinct difference between being 'bitter and jealous' and stupid.
The financial crisis of today...if that is the proper term...is due to folks overextending themselves trying to live beyond their means and going belly up. The current land prices reflect that trend....idiots willing to pay ridiculous amounts and the owners more than willing to pump them for whatever they could get. The current real estate values are obviously overinflated. That is why the market is stagnant...people can't pay it. Until there is a reasonable adjustment made in the market...it shall remain that way (stagnant). Folks like me who refuse to pay a King's Ransom for a peasant's parcel are deemed as stupid or stingy. Well..hehe, maybe. My current place is paid for and I have money in my sock and I am no servant to a bank nor afraid of being set out in the road due to nonpayment. The next place I own will be the same way...the day I take possession of it.
