My son has an old Ford Tempo with the automatic shoulder belt actuator. It hasn't worked the 5 years that he has had it. He did find that if you hotwire the motor leads it works and by reversing the leads it reverses. I have an Allis Chalmers Garden Tractor with an electric actuator cylinder. The switch for that is what he needs. One terminal for power, one for ground, and 2 for load. The switch is 3 position, spring loaded to center for off. Can anyone tell me what the terminology to describe this type switch is? The local Napa guy couldn't find one in his book. I looked at Radio Shack's website and was not able to pick one out of the poor descriptions that they give. Any ideas where to buy one, or scavenge one from?
