Anyone ever use a hydraulic motor to power the PTO on a tractor? I have a tractor with about 20 GPM flow and about 2000 PSI. I've been thinking of installing a hydraulic motor in the differential with the shaft sticking out through the cover where a PTO shaft normally is installed. I checked with a local parts supply and I can get a 1" diameter with 1/4" keyway female to 1-3/8" OD X 6 spline male adaptor for less than $25. I have a valve and can find a hydraulic motor with the torque and RPM @ 16 GPM to meet the need for about $180. It seems to be a reasonable way to go since I have the available hydraulics on the trator. Opinions, Please. Ken McWilliams Dayton, OH
