We usually have about 6 or 8 at any one time. If you feed them as much as they want to eat, you'll have mice out in the country. I cut the feed I was putting out by 1/4th and haven't seen any mice since. Every once in a while they'll catch a mole. No rabbits or squirrells anywhere. I've even seen them snatch a bird off the porch rail. I've seen cats climb up into the rafters in pole buildings and grab birds out of their nests.
