That's some nice looking tobacco. A lot of the farmers up here in Mass. & CT. still grow shade and broadleaf. I helped cut and spear about 4 acres of broadleaf last summer for a guy. I have done my fair share of topping, cutting, and spearing since I was 16. Always hated spearing. I have a nice scar in the middle of my handing from a spear. Didn't go quite through to the other side, but sure came close. The Jamaicans laughed for quite a while about the little white boy stabbing his hand. Got to drive tractor with a rack the rest of the day though so it all worked out.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
