Oh man, I'm trying to rack my brain about what I heard on the news a couple of years ago pertaining to this, but I can't get it straight.
Basically, the FCC or whoever, had outlawed cellphone directories so that everyone and their dog, including telemarketers couldn't use up people's cell time by calling their cell phones. Then the law was lifted or was going to be lifted but Verizon, for one said they would never give out a directory, to protect their customers.
I'm sure someone else on this forum can fill in the gaps. Jim
