Okay guys, here is the challenge. Have the tractor lined up to attach loader when it won't go into first. So put it in third, then it won't come out of third. Get it up to shed and pull plate on top of torque tube and can't get the plate & shifter to come off. See inside that a shift fork rod (where it is attached to inside of the plate) is broken and that the fork is slipped of to the side of the torque tube. After reading the manual I now know that the tranny must be in neutral to pull the shifter plate off. . .How do I get it into neutral when it is stuck in gear? Any help appreciated. D. This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life.
