I'll babysit for $22 hour since I won't have to change to many diapers. When did $40,000/year become a poor salary ? Engineers starting salary=$26K, 5 years of HARD classes as opposed to art appreciation/childhood development. And tenure after 2 years so no matter how poorly you do your job it is nearly impossible to get fired.
