When I went to High School we all had to take 9 weeks of typing, taught by Miss Knutsen who was a large framed woman who wore her white hair in a bun and wore clothing from a much earlier era to include very large 3/4 heel black shoes. She played John Philip Sousa records on a wind up Victrola and expected us to type in time to the marching music with our old Remington manual typewriters. Every single day the spring would wind down in the old Victrola when she was in the back of the room. She would finally realize that the tempo was slooooowing and run headlong to the front of the room and begin cranking furiously. It was all very funny. I can still see her clomping to the front of the room, old feedbag dress flying.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
