Those tractor fan belt replacements are the best reason to buy a linkbelt that I know of. My MF-2135 still has the original belt on it and looks to last another ten years but when it goes... I sure won't replace it with a belt that I can't break down. As for engine compartments... I have a Dodge 440 that's stuffed in a Sportsman truck front on a class C motorhome. Their isn't an inch clearance under the engine cover. The right exhaust manifold had to be put on upside down to fit and the heat from that manifold goes right into the valve cover to cook the oil fast. It's a great engine but just about suffers from heat exhaustion in a motorhome. Changing plugs is a real treat also. Headers are definately in order as will be some forced air to cool the engine and feed the carb.
