As I recomended to guy down the board earlier, I recomend the Farm Service Agency. Most others didn't seem to care for them, but I've had loans with them in the past, and I'm in the process of taking out a smaller loan as we speak. My local office has some really good people in it and they've really worked with me. I also have excellent credit and can go to just about any bank or lending institution and get money, I just get better rates thru the FSA office.
As of March, operating loans, which include equipment and livestock purchases, will have an intrest rate of 2 percent for a 7 year loan. I don't know anywhere else that will touch that. Now one thing a lot of people don't like is they do kinda get up in business a little....meaning they want a clear business plan, will due farm survey's, and want a clear picture of your profitibility. If you can make enough off the farm to make the loan payment, you don't get the loan, period.
