Gary, I am always reluctant to enter into this type of discussion. In this case I'm not trying to argue but just to comment. In general I agree with you. I should be able to own a gun for hunting and protection. However, in the last couple of years 3 or 4 children have been killed in Omaha. One was an accidental shooting by a 12 year old. Several are gang related drive by shootings into to houses. One was 6 year old, another a baby. Another was a sniper like shooting of a young lady while she was at a fast food drive-thru. I think it would be a reasonable assumption that this happens in other parts of the country. Gang killings are out of control. The Mexican police and government are basically out gunned by the drug lords with weapons from the US. Perhaps it would be more helpful if the gun rights organizations would come up with a solution to this problem instead of just screaming gun rights everytime the government attempts to take action.
