Greetings: I just recently purchased an IH Cub for grass cutting and small garden work. It is a great little tractor and my wife is the one who wanted it. The belly mower cuts a five foot path and does a decent job in terms of quality. It does have electric start, hydraulics, and lights. There is no three point hitch and the PTO is way non-standard, but it has not caused any problems for me so far. I got the tractor with a mouldboard plow, cultivators, snow blade, wheel weights, etc. I already had disk harrows and a spring tooth harrow for my Farmall A. If you got similar equipment with the Cub, you could probably get by without the 3 pt hitch. It would do all grass cutting and most of the garden prep work. I got my Cub by placing a Wanted ad in the local paper. Got 4-5 calls. There was no pressure to buy before someone else snatched it up so I could pick the best of the bunch. Oh yea, the PTO turns in the wrong direction and runs at whatever speed the engine runs (if memory serves me correct). Therefore, new PTO equipment would not be for this tractor.
