I have developed a bad habit of stopping for a beer (maybe more than one) with co-workers once a week or so, and the talk at the bar often turns to politics.
Last week, an older gentleman two seats down chimes in - complaining loudly and vehemently about "all the taxes".
It's all good, w/in five minutes he is part of the conversation, all is friendly.
Soon, I asked him what he does or did for a living. He is 62, worked for municipal government and is retired living on his GOVERNMENT PENSION! Damn those taxes man !
It never ceases to amaze me. "Conservative" is just another word for a selfish person wearing blinders.
