Tom, if you mow while it is wet, you'll find out in a hurry what angle the tractor doesn't want to be on because it will take you right off of there. I don't know of any specific angle that the tractor will tip over, it depends on wheel spacing and tire loading, speed and hitting something with the uphill wheel as your mowing. (Read slow) while doing this operation. Draw a imaginary line from the outside of the rear tire to the outside of the front tire. Hold up a string with a weight on it and if it points outside of the imaginary line , it is too steep. This method is courtesy of this board. There is a company that makes ROPS for the 8-N but I forget the web address. You could get some 2 x 4" rectangular tubing and make your own. They would bolt on where the rear fenders attach and should be braced forward somewhere. Have a good welder put them together, don't want you to have a poor design here. Rear tire filling has a considerable effect as does having at least 20% of the weight on the front end of the tractor. The judgement around the board is if it looks too steep, IT IS. L8R----Fred

The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
