My business (weed control) has made more profit in the first 2 months of this year than all of last year. My entire team, sales and operations, beleives that we can outsell and outperform our way out of this mess. We are not going to participate in this recession. We've lost some customers but gained more. Not every business is shutting down, some are still very profitable. I'm going to take some of these profits and have some concrete poured in the driveway and barn by a local guy and build a polebarn, for which I will buy the lumber and tin locally. I am also going to hire two new guys in anticipation for the contracts we have secured. Knock on wood, maybe the realtors, banks, greedy developers, and carmakers don't know how to run a successful, long-lived business, but I do, and will continue to.
