Hey Jim. Actually White only made 107 of the diesel conversions under an Army experimental contract and only 6, from what I can determine, were powered by Budas. The remainder were Herc DJXDs. The project was scraped for I don't know why yet and the cars were all shipped to Russia under lend-lease where they remained active duty line units thru the 60's. Mine was one of two, one Buda one Herc that were not shipped again for unk reasons at this point.
Thanks for the headsup on Portrayl but the manual TM9-1705D is so off the wall that they don't have it and I would probably be the only one requesting a copy so why would they look.
As far as seeing the project, I've got it torn down to the frame at this point and all you can tell is that it's a scout car but that's about it. I've got the original engine and now a backup and piles and piles of spares in boxes and crates and in places my wife would rather they not be.
